📢 Check out Sonar's latest updates: Feature Release Notes

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) with Sonar

Protect against data breaches and secure your hybrid or remote workforce today. Once 2FA is enabled, you will be asked to verify your identity by entering an additional password code, which is provided by an external authentication application (such as Salesforce or Google).

⚠️ Important Note: 2FA and Insights Compatibility

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is currently not compatible with Insights. If you require access to Sonar Insights, do not enable 2FA on your account at this time.

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your login process by requiring two separate methods of verification. This helps protect your account from threats such as phishing, social engineering, and stolen passwords.

2FA works by combining:

  1. Something you know: such as your net2phone Canada username and password, plus,
  2. Something you have: a mobile device or email used to send a verification code, confirming your identity during login.

By requiring both factors, 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access—even if your password is compromised.

Before enabling 2FA in Sonar, download a secure authentication app on your smartphone.

TOTP Authentication utilizes an authenticator application to generate Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication codes.

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Sonar

Office Managers and Call Center Supervisors must be in “My Account” within the Sonar portal to access the profile section.

  1. Log in to the Sonar client portal.
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner, then click Profile.
  3. Within the pop-up window, scroll down to the Account Security section.
  4. Next to “Multi-Factor Authentication,” click Set Up Google Authenticator to reveal a QR code.
  5. Scan the QR code using your mobile authentication app (links to recommended authentication apps are provided above).
  6. In Sonar, enter the code generated from the QR Scan.
  7. Enter your current Sonar password for verification.
  8. Click Save.
