What is Quality of Service (QoS)?

Quality of Service (QoS) is a configurable setting in your router, firewall, or other network software that prioritizes voice data packets over other types of data traffic. By enabling QoS, your network will prioritize VoIP calls, ensuring that your phones and computers get the bandwidth they need for clear, uninterrupted communication. 

Why is QoS Important for VoIP?

Without QoS, your network treats all types of data equally. This means activities like video streaming, large file downloads, or web browsing can slow down your VoIP calls. QoS ensures that your VoIP traffic gets priority, improving call quality by minimizing delays, dropped calls, and audio issues.
