A blind call transfer, also known as a "cold" transfer, lets you transfer a call directly to another extension or number without any prior introduction. In this process, the recipient's phone will display the original caller's details instead of your own.

How to Perform a Blind Call Transfer

The example below is from a Poly VVX 400 desk phone. 

1. Once you answer a call, press the Transfer button or Transfer soft key; this will put the caller on hold.

2. Press the Blind soft key.
If you don't see the Blind soft key on your phone model, press and hold the Transfer key or Transfer soft key to send a blind call transfer. 

3.  Dial the extension or phone number of the intended recipient and press the Send soft key, or wait for the call to automatically connect.  

Transfer Tips! 

If the call is unanswered or you wish to return to the caller, press the Cancel soft key to end the transfer and return to the caller.

If the caller wishes to leave a voice message, you can directly transfer them to their intended recipient’s voicemail by blind transferring them and entering *90 before the recipient's extension.
